ADOPTION PROGRAMME :

It is a most sensitive programme. It is meant for rehabilitation of abandoned,orphaned and destitute Children by means of placement in adoption to Indian Families in accordance with the Hindu Adoption Act 1956 and on observance of guidelines prescribed by the Centeral Adoption Resource Agency and Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. TCCW is involved in adoption activities since March, 1995. It is a recognised placement agency. At present it maintains three. Homes named “Sishu Greha,” (Specialized Adoption Agency SSA) one at  Agartala, one at Senahani of west Tripura and another at Udaipur under south Tripura for the abandoned, orphaned and destitute Children.

SHORT STAY HOME :(Now discontinued)

TCCW maintains one Short Stay Home at Jogendranagar, Agartala. Women and girls under difficult circumstances resulting from rape, sexual exploitation, martial maladjustment, Court cases etc. are given homely shelter in the SSH. Boarding and Lodging are free of cost. They are imparted nonformal education and vocational training in different trades such as tailoring, embroidery, knitting of wollen garments by machine etc. Mothers along with their kids can stay.

SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR THE CEREBRAL PALSIED AND MENTALLY RETARDED CHILDREN :(NOW DISCONTINUED  AS GRANT STOPPED BY GOVT.

TCCW runs a Special School for the Cerebral Palsied and Mentally Retarded children at Jogendranagar, Agartala to render day care services to the Cerebral Palsied and Mentally Retarded Children. The main objective of this School is to make them know things, learn things and self-reliant as far as possible and practicable. The Council has in mind to start a residential school for the CPMR in the near future.

TRAINING PROGRAMME :(NOW DISCONTINUED)

It is closely associated with ICDS Training Programme. It runs 1(one) Anganwadi Workers Training Centres at Arundhutinagar. The Training Centre is residential and impart in-service training to Anganwadi Workers and helpers. Trainees are deputed by the State Government. All Expenditures relating to this training programme are borne by TCCW from the fund received from the Department of Women and Child Development. Govt. of India. The State Govt. has no financial involvement.

NATIONAL TRUST :(NOW DISCONTINUED)

TCCW has been entrusted with the responsibility of State Nodal Agency Centre(SNAC) by the National Trust under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to monitor and promote the activities related to the Welfare of the persons with Autism, Cerebral palsy, Mental Retradation and Multiple Disabilities in the State.TCCW carried out the program of Badthe Kadam in 2010 throughout the State successfully to bring about massive awareness amongst the people about Disability.The Council is also making all effort to implant different Schemes for the Welfare of PWD through different NGOs.

CHILD LINE :(Now discontinued)

TCCW has appointed as the support organisation for the implementation of the ‘CHILD LINE’ service in Agartala. Tripura ‘CHILD LINE’ India Foundation. Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India.

CRECHE PROGRAMME :

TCCW runs 126 Creches 73 in West Tripura, 20 in South Tripura, 18 in North Tripura, 11 Dhalai and 4 in Unokoti  to render day care services to the babies of Working Mothers in Villages, Tea Garden and slums.

FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE :

TCCW runs 2 Family Counselling Centres, one at Agartala and the other at Udaipur of South Tripura for the peaceful mitigation of different types of family discords in different ways.FCCs always aim at reconcillation between the quarrel of husband and wife.

PAINTING COMPETITION:

Tripura Council for Child Welfare(TCCW) organizes National Painting Competition at Agartala, Udaipur and Dharmanagar amongst the children of age group 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16 and for Physically Handicapped children from 5-10 and 11-18 during the period. Children of different groups have been considered for sending their names to New Delhi for competing at National Level and the  winners get scholarship  till at the age of 18 years or up to passed class xii, whichever is earlier.
